National Night Out

This year's National Night Out will take place on August 4, 2008 at Central Park in Sunnyside from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The event will be hosted by the Sunnyside Police Department. The event is open to the public and everyone is encourages to attend this fun, family event. All food and entertainment will be at no cost!

 

All Lower Valley Law Enforcement Agencies are invited to participate in the planning and coordination of this event.

 

Currently, the Sunnyside Police Department is actively seeking service organizations and companies wanting to participate in the National Night Out Kick Off Party. The goal of the SPD is to provide a family friendly atmosphere where attendees to leave informed about the businesses and services available in the Yakima Valley. The Sunnyside Police Department’s mission in associating ourselves with the National Association of Town Watch is to accomplish four broad goals: 1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) Generate support for and participation in, local anticrime programs; 3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; 4) Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
